Onyekachi Francis Nwosu, Professional Sculptor and CEO of 12th March clothings, is a young Nigerian Sculptor cum clothing designer whose talents radiate from the Eastern state of Abia's University to the grand hustle city of Lagos.

Francis, as he is fondly called was born in Lagos, and is currently a finals student of Sculpting at the Fine and Applied Arts Department at Abia State University, Uturu. He recently established a clothing line called 12th March Clothings. when asked about his style, he responded "12th March is a unique date in my life and in the world, it was the date i came into this world, so i want to share what God gave to me to give to the world" His designs are unique, and they tell a story of how Francis views the world, especially from the artists' perspective

Statistics available to us shows that the value of poultry products in general and egg in particular has steadily risen over the past 5 years at an average rate of 18%, basically due to the scarcity of poultry farmers who run businesses with soft loans from the Federal Government. Lack of these loans facility has created a gap in the production and supply chain of the industry, a gap we intend to tap into and to some extent, fill up. TARGETED MARKET AND CUSTOMERS The target market is the egg consuming populace and every Nigerian who consumes egg as part of their diet. Customers would include suppliers and retailers in shops, market kiosks, and supermarkets as contained in the marketing section of this proposal GROWTH TRENDS IN THE BUSINESS The growth trends in poultry business are comfortably positive, as sales nationwide has increased just as the unit price increased from data available on the National Bureau of Statistics website. There is a relatively comfortable projection that the pricing would continually increase over the next 3 years. PRICING POWER For a start, we would start with a reduced value from the market price so as to grab consumer satisfaction and interest, and carefully and gradually we would standardize the pricing. FINANCING Finance for this project would be raised by the client, and all invoices, receipts and purchases would be made in his/her name STEPWISE PROCEDURE FOR BUSINESS SETUP Research into the best quality and species conditioned specially on weather acclimatization and survivability ratio has shown that the black layer (Australops) specie is most suitable for the business. Furthermore, the caging system for poultry housing is chosen to the plot housing in consideration of space and non availability of finance as regards land. Battery caging system Explanations Starter mash is given to the birds for 8 weeks, growers mash for 10 weeks and layers mash when they start preparing for laying. Laying starts at 22 weeks, but preparations start from 4 weeks prior The battery caging system would be made of wood and wire gauze. It would be a 4 tier cage with dimensions 12 ft*8 ft* 2 ft height. 2 ft would suspend it from the ground, giving it a total height of 10 ft. COST ACQUSITION UNIT COST(NGN) COST (NGN) BIRDS 500 100,000 FEEDERS 400 16,000 DRINKERS 500 20,000 SUPPLEMENTS 1000 10,000 FEED 2500 175,000 CAGE/PEN/HOUSE 50,000 MISSCELANEOUS 50,000 TOTAL 421,000 SALES PROJECTION For a period of 22 weeks, the birds would be taken care of with utmost care and professionalism, as a dedicated keeper would ensure that their soil layer is changed every week to ensure their cleanliness, and their supplements are given to them at every drink. After 22 weeks, they are expected to start laying one egg per day. This gives us a total of 200 eggs daily amounting to 1400 eggs weekly. This gives us about 46 crates of egg weekly. Going by the average price of a crate put @700 naira; this venture would be raising the sum of 32,200 weekly. This amounts to 128,800 monthly. With these projections, we hope to amortize in 4 months from the date of laying. This is approximately 39 weeks from date of commencement. MARKETING Marketing plan would be divided into two; General marketing plan: this involves the sales of the product to the general public through the open markets and shops, and also to poultry products suppliers. This would be the first layer of sales Specific marketing plan: involves the repackaging of the product into specially designed crates with the venture name and details written on it, and then supplied to high end supermarkets and stores. The value of this crate would be higher than that of the general market price, and as such increased popularity and market value is accrued. CUSTOMER ACQUISITION AND RETENTION PLAN For the general market, personal delivery would be done to encourage customers to stay back with us, and when we see a moment to throw in a promo price on the condition of purchase increase, without it harming cash inflows, we do that also. Our first and most basic principle of customer acquisition and retention is that we would sell our product at a value that is a fraction less than the average market value. GROWTH PROGRAM Growth program of the business is very possible, as running the business in its own property creates room for expansion. Also, the opportunity of milling and producing the feeds is of great importance. This growth forecasts is been planned after the business breaks even. CONCLUSION This mini proposal has been prepared with the mind that asset would be managed by MCL, who would also manage the project. the Nigerian education system ends with the compulsory one year national service. but after that, the disillusion starts for most young people. the forced posting to schools or to government establishments with no connection to one's field of specialization means that the youth is faced with starting off on a blank ground, having lost one year to the system. the solution to the problem is self sustenance. find out what your passion is, work towards it, and apply entrepreneurial skills and you'll be surprised.
